There is no doubt that man has had a fascination with butterflies and their shapes, colours and patterns for hundreds of years. With approximately 830 species having been recorded in southern Africa; seeing how many one can spot in an afternoon is a wonderful way to relax. Here at Lynton Hall and in the surrounding Pennington area, we have identified over 100 different butterflies and would like to invite you to see if you can spot our favourite: the Buxton's Hairstreak (Hypolycaena Buxtoni Buxtoni); a rare butterfly in these parts.
